End Time Prophecies
An Introduction
As we have entered the dawn of a
new millenium, there is an expectation in the air that
something big is about to happen. Whether you are a Christian or
a non-Christian, you
cannot have failed to notice the rapid speed with which our world
is changing.
More changes had taken place in
the C20th than at any other time since Noah's flood.
Especially Changes in science and technology and changes in
nature.
These changes have not suprised Christians, for they have been
foretold in God's Holy
Bible for thousands of years.
Jesus said (Matthew ch 24 vs 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows )
There is a time coming on this earth that is going to be so
terrible that men would rather die than live, but death will flee
from them. (Matthew ch 24 vs 21 For then shall be great tribulation, such
as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no nor
ever shall be.
And except those days should be shortened there should no flesh
be saved, but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. )
(Revelation ch 9 vs 6 And in those days shall men seek death, and shall
not find it; and shall
desire to die, and death shall flee from them. )
Some believe that it is just one big coincidence, but Christians
know that God's word, the Holy Bible foretold these changes
thousands of years ago. These changes are the signs to let us
know that the LORD JESUS CHRIST is about to return to take his
people out of this world.
The second coming of JESUS CHRIST has often been misunderstood by many people. JESUS CHRIST is not coming to the earth again to preach the gospel and save people from their sins.
There are two phases of the return of JESUS CHRIST.
Phase one is commonly known as the
' Rapture ' . The word ' Rapture ' means to be snatched away. The
LORD will not destroy the righteous with the wicked, so he has a
plan to take his
people (Those who have repented of their sins, been baptized in
the name of JESUS CHRIST, filled with the Holy Ghost and are
living a holy life ) out of this world before he executes
judgment.
The people of this world will not
see JESUS CHRIST return for his people. It will be an
invisible and silent event. Millions of Christians all over the
world will suddenly disappear
from the face of the earth.
( 1Thessalonians ch 4 vs 16-18 For the Lord himself shall
descend from heaven with a shout,
with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and
the dead in Christ shall rise
first:
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together
with them in the clouds, to
meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Wherefore comfort one another with these words. )
( 1Corinthians ch
15 vs 51-52 Behold
, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we
shall all be changed,
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for
the trumpet shall sound, and the
dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. )
This event is also known as the first resurrection.
(Revelation ch 20
vs 6 Blessed
and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such
the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God
and of Christ, and shall reign with
him a thousand years. )
Those who miss the
' Rapture ' will be left behind to face the wrath of satan, and
the judgment
of God that will come on the earth.
(Matthew ch 24 vs
37-42 But as
the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son
of man be.
For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating
and drinking, marrying and
giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark,
And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so
shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the
other left.
Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken,
and the other left.
Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. )
(Revelation ch 12 vs 12 Therefore rejoice ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea ! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. )
Their final destination will be the lake of fire.
(Revelation ch 20 vs 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. )
The period of time between the rapture of the Church and the return of JESUS CHRIST and his SAINTS to execute judgment on the world, will be at least 1000 years.
Phase two will be a public event. Every human being on the earth at that time will see the return of JESUS CHRIST.
(Revelation ch 1
vs 7 Behold,
he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and
they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall
wail because of him. Even so, Amen. )
(Jude vs 14-15 And Enoch also, the seventh
from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold,
the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are
ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have
ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly
sinners have spoken against him. )
(2 Thessalonians
ch 1 vs 7-10 And
to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus
shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and
that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the
presence of the Lord, and from the
glory of his power;
When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be
admired in all them that believe( because our testimony among you
was believed ) in that day. )
(Revelation ch 6
vs 15-17 And
the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men,
and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman,
and every free man, hid
themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;
And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from
the face of him that sitteth
on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:
For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to
stand ? )
This introduction
to end time prophecies is to awaken every human being to the fact
that The
LORD JESUS CHRIST is coming soon.
