There's No Other Book Like The Bible !
As we have entered the dawn of a new millenium, you cannot have failed to notice the rapid speed with which our world is changing. More changes took place in the C20th than at any other time since Noah's flood. Especially Changes in science, technology, morality, and changes in nature. These changes have not suprised Christians, for they have been foretold in God's Holy Bible for thousands of years.
The Bible has been attacked and criticized more than any other book in history. The Romans burned it, the government banned it from the masses during the middle ages, atheists ridicule it. The Bible could only have survived these attacks due to divine preservation.
Maybe you have heard statements like " The Bible is full of contradictions ", or " Science disproved the Bible a long time ago ", and you have found yourself following the crowd having never read the Bible for yourself.
We would like to set the record straight and present overwhelming evidence that the Bible is indeed the inspired WORD OF GOD.
All of the Quotations in this booklet are taken from the Authorized King James Bible translated in 1611
Future Events Foretold
The Bible is 100% accurate concerning prophecy. In the Old Testament alone there are around 300 prophecies concerning the coming Messiah or Christ which were perfectly fulfilled in Jesus Christ, hundreds of years after they were written. We would like to deal with a number of prophecies which have been fulfilled in our generation in order to let you know that we are living in the last days.
Israel's Restoration
Jesus foretold that Jerusalem including the Temple would be destroyed and that the jews would be scattered throughout the world. This prophecy was fulfilled in AD 70.
Luke 21:24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
Matthew 24:1-2 And Jesus went out and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple. And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? Verily I say unto you there shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
Jeremiah 29:18 And I will persecute them with the sword, and with the famine, and with the pestilence and will deliver them to be removed to all the kingdoms of the earth, to be a curse, and an astonishment, and an hissing, and a reproach, among all the nations whither I have driven them:
What is so amazing is that the Bible declares that the Jews will be preserved as an identifiable nation and re-gathered back into their homeland in the last days. This seemed an impossibility especially after nearly 2000yrs without a homeland and the slaughter of 6,000,000 Jews during World War 2, but on May 14th 1948 the state of Israel was re-established. This has happened to no other nation in history.
Isaiah 11:12 And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.
Ezekiel 36:24+28 For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land. And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.
Israel will blossom
The Bible declares that after Israel is re-gathered in the last days, that the land will be fruitful and blossom. Before Israel returned in 1948 the land was barren wilderness. The tiny nation of Israel is now the 3rd largest exporter of fruit in the world, in contrast to the surrounding nations which are mostly barren.
Isaiah 27:6 He shall cause them that come of Jacob to take root: Israel shall blossom and bud, and fill the face of the world with fruit.
Ezekiel 36:24,30,34-36 For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.
And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that ye shall receive no more reproach of famine among the heathen.
And the desolate land shall be tilled, whereas it lay desolate in the sight of all that passed by.
And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are become fenced, and are inhabited.
Then the heathen that are left round about you shall know that I the LORD build the ruined places, and plant that that was desolate: I the LORD have spoken it, and I will do it
Focus of World attention
The prophet Zechariah 2,500 years ago, foretold that Jerusalem, a tiny city in one of the worlds tiniest countries, would be the focus of world attention. Israel is hardly out of the news these days, due to suicide bombings and other issues. Most people belive that if a nuclear war breaks out, it will be over problems in the Middle East.
In November 1947 the United Nations adopted U.N resolution 181, partitioning Palestine and making Jerusalem an International City. The U.N. reject any Jewish claim that Jerusalem is their Capital City. Tel Aviv is now recognized as Israel's Capital City by the U.N. The muslim's Dome of the Rock is also in Jerusalem, making it a very sensitive city.
Zechariah 12:2,3,6 Behold I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.
And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.
Nuclear War
The prophet Zechariah foretold the last day battle of Armageddon in which the nations of the world would fight against Jerusalem. At the time of the prophecy 2,500 years ago, wars were fought using swords, bows and arrows, but the destruction of these armies is described in a way that could not have been possible even 100 years ago.
Zechariah 14:12 And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes,and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth
Zechariah 12:6 In that day will I make the governors of Judah like an hearth of fire among the wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left: and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem.
This prophecy is an exact description of the effects of a nuclear blast.
Satellite Technology
The Bible speaks of two witnesses which God will send and they will be killed in Jerusalem. Their dead bodies will be seen lying in the streets of Jerusalem by the nations of the world. This would have been impossible 2000 years ago, but today due to satellite technology, people around the world can watch events in Jerusalem on their Television.
Revelation 11:8-10 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city . . . . . .
And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies . . . . . .
And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them . . . . . . .
Increase in Knowledge
Over the last 100 years there has been an explosion of knowledge, never before seen in history. For thousands of years people have traveled on horseback and communicated with handwritten letters by post. We can now travel faster than the speed of sound and communicate worldwide almost instantly. The invention of the computer and the internet have radically changed modern society. These changes were foretold in the Bible around 2,500 years ago, in the book of Daniel.
Daniel 12:4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
The term "run to and fro" means travelling backwards and forwards, as can be seen from another passage of scripture Amos 8:12 And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro . . . .
A Century ago only the privilaged few could travel abroad, and then it would take weeks and sometimes months by ship. Because of the explosion of knowledge the general public can now travel across the world in a matter of hours by airplane. Millions of people are now travelling back and forth across the sea every year, creating a massive travel industry. This is exactly as the Bible foretold.
A Cashless Society
Due to computer technology we are quickly moving toward a cashless society. We are already using plastic cards and internet banking. Banks have expressed their desire for a cashless society.
The Bible foretells a time in the last days when the whole world will be a global community and all buying and selling will be done using a number and a mark.
Revelation 13:16-18 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the numberof the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is six hundred threescore(60) and six.
A world leader will arise (known as the beast) and force compliance to a law that everybody must receive an implanted mark in their right hand or forehead. Notice that the mark is 'in' the hand not 'on' it. Microchips used as tracking devices are already being implanted in dogs and cats. This is also available for humans, and is implanted via a syringe by a G.P. The chip contains medical information.
Without this mark no-one can buy or sell. Numbers and marks are already used in buying and selling via the bar code. Bar codes are preparing us for the next step.
The term bond in the verse refers to prisoners. Some prisoners are already being electronicaly tagged as a condition for early release.
The world is being conditioned to receive this electronic mark. It is now being suggested that all children should be electronically tagged for protection against paedophiles. The use of this technology will begin on a voluntary basis, and it will appear to be beneficial in many ways. Once accepted, it will eventually be used as a form of social control.
God issues a warning to anyone who takes the mark of the beast (666)
Revelation 14:9-11 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation ; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the lamb:
And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name
The Environment
Earthquakes In the last 35 years there has been an increase in great earthquakes both in intensity and frequency.
Famines Millions are dying from famine in the third world every year.
Pestilence There has been an increased outbreak of deadly diseases during our generation, including Aids, HIV, various cancers etc.
Matthew 24: 7- 8 and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes in divers (various) places.
All these are the beginning of sorrows.
The Ozone Layer The U.N are desperately trying to get world leaders to reduce pollution, knowing that the Ozone layer is being destroyed. Skin cancer is on the increase because of exposure to the harmful rays of the Sun
This was foretold in the Bible 2000 years ago
Revelation 16:8,9,11 And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.
And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.
And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds.
This generation due to its selfishness and greed has caused more environmental damage than any generation before it.
Moral Decline
The Bible foretells the moral decline of the world in the last days. We can see in our society an increase in witchcraft, pornography, abortion, homosexuality, drugs, violence etc. Jesus said that in the last days it would be similar to the days of Noah and the flood, and also like the days when Sodom and Gomorah were destroyed.
Genesis 13:13 But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly.
Genesis 19:4- 7 But before they lay down, the men of the City, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter: And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? Bring them out unto us that we may know them.
(The old English word "Know" refers to sexual intercourse. Compare GENESIS 4:1 And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived and bare Cain, )
And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him. And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly.
Genesis 19:24 Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven
Romans 1:26-28 For even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature. And like wise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. . .And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient.
What must I do to be saved ?
The judgement of God is about to come on the world because of the sins of men.
2 Peter 3:9 The Bible says that God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
God loves people, but he hates their sins. God must judge sin because he is Holy and just.
Since God created the Universe, he also owns it, which also means that he has the right to set the laws by which it is governed, just as the owner and landlord of a property has the right to set the level of rent and the rules of the property.
Gods holy laws reflect his holy nature.
Every human being is born with a sinful nature that is in rebellion against the laws of God. This nature has been inherited from the first man Adam who rebelled against God. There is no child born in this world that has to be taught how to do wrong, for it happens automatically.
When people compare themselves to others like Adolph Hitler, Myra Hindley etc they can feel good about themselves, and how righteous they are, but when compared to God's holiness everyone falls far short of the mark. Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God
No matter how moral you feel you are, you cannot enter into Heaven with your sinful nature. John 3:5 Jesus answered Verily, verily, I say unto thee Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God
If a person harbours a criminal in their house and refuses to hand them over to be dealt with by the authorities, then that person will be tried and found guilty along with the criminal.
God is calling all men to give up their sins, for he has provided a way for them to be dealt with.
Acts 22:16 And now why tarriest thou ? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
